On April 24 Rector of the Russian International Academy for Tourism Doctor of political sciences, Professor E.N. Trofimov delivered a repot on "The development of ethnographic tourism for the revival and preservation of ethnic and cultural heritage" at the IV International Conference "Ethnographic tourism as a way of revival and preservation of ethnic and cultural heritage", organized by the Federal Agency for Tourism and held at the All-Russian Exhibition Center in Moscow as part of the IX International exhibition fair "Treasures of the North 2014".

The report reveals the identity of ethnographic tourism, has a great future in store as a type of cultural tourism in Russia. The author made a point of ethnographic tourism developing through the utilization of mechanisms of social tourism, primarily youth tourism, promoting love for our vast multinational homeland - Russia.

Multinationality of our country, as well as it’s natural, climatic and landscape variety, is a valuable tourist and recreational resource. Rector expressed confidence that colossal tourist resources of Russia and its multinational flavor only in alliance with a mechanism of social tourism and professionalism of trained skilled tourism personnel would respond to the great challenges for sustainable development of domestic tourism in the regions of the Russian Federation.
